Intimate Encounter Of The Third Kind (Finale)

In the spirit of mid-February (there is no way I will use the V-word), I’ve prepared three postings I thought relevant to the occasion. This second piece is an excerpt from one of Seinfeld’s episode. Picturing its main character, Jerry, as a stand up comedian, Seinfeld is regularly slipped with three of his live comic acts: one to open, one to short-break, and one to close the show. This one from episode 10 of season 3, The Alternate Side, suits the occasion perfectly.

The Best Part Of A Relationship
I think the best part of a relationship is when you're sick. And the best part of being sick is when you’re in a relationship. You know all those vows –for richer or poorer, for better or worst, (and on)? All I mean is the sickness. That’s to me is the most important one. Do you take this man in sickness? That’s the only time I need somebody there. The rest of the time, go out, have a ball, do whatever you want. But if I have the sniffles…. You better be there.
